He said that the slain victims, who included a middle-aged housewife, were working on the farm when they came upon the robbers. The monarch stated that they raced to board the canoe in order to flee to neighboring Daku village, but the boat overturned while attempting to cross the Gurara River.
Magaji, who condemned bandit activity in the region, stated that farmers could no longer travel to their farms for fear of being abducted by bandits. Ibrahim Abubakar, Vice-Chairman of Abaji LGA, also verified the event, revealing that one of his relatives was among those that perished.
DSP Adeh Josephine, the spokeswoman for the FCT police command, did not respond to a text message about the event.
