
FCT POLICE COMMISSIONER HONORED WITH PRESTIGIOUS AWARD

The Institute of Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria has conferred the esteemed title of Associate Fellow on FCT Commissioner of Police, Saka Adewale Ajao, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to maintaining law and order in the nation’s capital. The award was presented during a courtesy visit by the Institute’s Director General, Dr. Amb. Okocha Morgan, and his media team, to the FCT Police Command.

The award was received by DCP Aliyu Abubakar on behalf of the CP, who was unavoidably absent on official duties. The Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to the Institute for the award, stating, “We are grateful for the recognition and look forward to working closely with the Institute to enhance our capabilities and improve on forensic knowledge”.

The meeting, attended by senior police officers, including DCP Aliyu Abubakar, ACP Juliana O. Godwin, DCP Isyaku Sharu, ACP Akaniyene Edward, DCP Lawrence Iwodi, and ACP Alkali Lamido, among others, aimed to explore potential partnership opportunities between the Institute and the FCT Police Command. Dr. Okocha commended the FCT Police Command for its commitment to excellence in security and forensic services, saying, “Today, we recognize the invaluable contributions of the FCT Police Command to the security and forensic landscape of Nigeria”.

The partnership is expected to enhance forensic security in the FCT through capacity-building programs for police officers, leveraging the Institute’s expertise in security and forensic studies. SP Musa Ibrahim OC on FCT command Forensic expressed enthusiasm about visiting the Institute to leverage cutting-edge forensic techniques and expertise.

Dakore Ependu, a member of the Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria Media team, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the warm reception and looking forward to a fruitful partnership. “Together, we can make a significant impact on the security landscape of Nigeria, particularly for the youth,” she said
