Two daring kidnappers were killed in a gunfight with security operatives in Kogi state‘s Idah local government area, while two others escaped with varying degrees of bullet wound.
Confirming the information, Hon. Abuh Odoma, chairman of the Idah local government area, stated that with the support of Governor Yahaya Bello, they have continued to secure victories over some of these miscreants.
He stated that they were committed to ensuring that, as the state governor stated in several meetings, every nook and cranny of Kogi state is safe and secure.
In his reaction, the state Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara, emphasized the importance of citizens’ continued vigilance, particularly in rural areas.
He went on to say that the business of security demanded collective responsibility from all stakeholders, so all hands must be on deck to ensure that the entire state is permanently free of criminal elements and their sponsors.
He concluded that the state government, led by Governor Yaya Bello, had consistently demonstrated competence and capacity in the area of security and would not rest on its laurels until the end of his tenure in the state.
