Gunmen kidnapped three children of an electronic dealer in Kogi State’s Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Wednesday on Kaduna Estate, Ajaokuta Steel township complex, according to Daily Trust.
According to an eyewitness, the gunmen stormed the compound where the children lived and began shooting into the air before abducting them.
A family source, who requested anonymity, identified the abducted children’s parent as Mr Kadiri, an electronic dealer from Edo State.
According to the source, the gunmen contacted the victims’ families on Thursday afternoon, demanding N100 million in ransom.
The kidnapped children are said to be aged five, seven, and ten.
“The gunmen invaded the house of Mr Kadiri, our brother who sells televisions, radios, and other electronic devices,” the source said.
“They shot repeatedly to scare people away from approaching.” When they were unable to locate their intended victim (Kadiri), they decided to kidnap three of his children.
“The kidnappers contacted some of our family members and they are demanding N100m”.
