Operation Desert Sanity (OPHK) troops attacked suspected Boko Haram terrorists, also known as Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd, killing seven of them in an ambush.
Reports has gathered that troops from the 73 Battalion, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), carried out a successful ambush on Wednesday in Kayamla Village near Maiduguri, the restive capital of Borno State, resulting in the killing of the terrorists.

The rampaging terrorists were those fleeing a huge military offensive in Boko Haram strongholds.
According to this newspaper, they mainly come to the countryside to terrorize farmers and sometimes abduct for ransom.
The army had increased the intensity of their offensives on the terrorists, their accomplices, and their logistics.
In response to the development, Major-General Christopher Musa, Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), charged troops of Operation Hadin Kai to live up to their responsibility as country defenders by neutralizing every terrorist in the North East “without mercy.”
