Terrorists in large numbers, armed with sophisticated weapons, attacked Dantsauni village in Kâtsina State’s Batagarawa Local Government Area, killing three people.
Abdulrashid Abba Manna, a Katsina resident, was among those killed. He went to farm in the morning at Dantsauni village but was ambushed and killed by the terrorists.This came just three days after bandits attacked the surrounding communities of Babbar Ruga, Kwarin Maikotso, and Kore villages, killing two people and kidnapping eight others.
Babbar Ruga village is only one kilometer away from Dantsauni village.
During the attack, the terrorists abducted dozens of people, including women and children, and hundreds of people were seen fleeing for their lives towards the ancient city of Katsina.
According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists also fired shots along the Katsina Ring Road, which is very close to the city.
Residents in the area reported seeing no security personnel during the terrorists’ 45-minute operation in broad daylight.
When contacted, Katsina police spokesman SP Gambo Isah confirmed the attack and said one person was killed and two others were injured.
