Monday saw Russia launch 75 missiles against several Ukrainian locations, according to a senior official in Kiev as of lunchtime.
41 of them, according to Mykhailo Podolyak, an assistant to the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office who provided the number on Telegram, were shot down air defense systems.
He referred to the missile barrage that hit the nation as “the last spasms of a wounded animal.”
He went on to say that the assaults on Ukrainian cities’ cores had once again demonstrated the “terrorist nature of the Russian regime.”
“The masks have come off: This is a deliberate, widespread attack on civilians, along with the destruction of civilian infrastructure.”
He continued by saying that the beleaguered Russian army is firing rockets at civilians because it has no idea how to fight in a combat.
On Monday morning, a number of rocket strikes were made on Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.
Several more significant cities also reported experiencing explosions.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, stated that one of the goals was the energy infrastructure.
As an air raid alert was in force across much of the country, he advised inhabitants to seek shelter. (dpa/NAN)
