The event happened on Tuesday about 6 p.m., when thirteen farmers were on their way to chop down trees when they were intercepted by ISWAP militants. Eleven of the farmers were killed, with only two surviving.

ISWAP apparently issued a warning to all local farmers and fisherman to leave several of the islands in Marte, Abadam, and other regions of Niger before the deadly attack, accusing them of leaking information to security authorities about their hideouts.

Because many of the farmers who were killed were Muslims, they were buried.

NSCDC  IN NASSARAWA APPREHENDS A FALSE ARMY

THE Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has apprehended a guy posing as a soldier.

Moses Ayaka, 32, was apprehended in Keffi-Wambai, Lafia Local Government Area of the state, after reportedly scamming 22 people out of N440,000.

While presenting the suspect on Wednesday at the NSCDC headquarters in Lafia, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Jerry Victor, stated that Ayaka was apprehended on September 9, 2022, at around 5 p.m., and that he was found with numerous military goods.

He stated that the suspect confessed to the offence and informed the command that some of the things were sold to him by Lance Corporal (LCPL) Gabriel of Maiduguri, Borno State, and LCPL Daniel of Calabar, Cross-River State.

Victor stated that the suspect blamed the conduct on the devil and appealed for mercy, adding that he will be charged following an inquiry.

The command seized a camouflage P-Cap tie, a military inner vest, a jack-knife, and a motorbike that the suspect reportedly stole from one of his victims.
