Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has granted a total of N19.4 million for the payment of scholarships to 59 law students from the state studying at three law schools across the country.
Isa Bala, Executive Secretary of the Borno Scholarship Board, told Newsmen in Maiduguri yesterday that the intervention was made to promote and encourage more Borno nationals to study law.
He stated that the scholarship was part of the government’s social welfare and cooperation obligation to the Borno people.
He went on to say that the prize was created to help young students in educational institutions, particularly those with minimal finances to support their academic pursuits.
“Because Prof. Babagana Zulum is dedicated about education, this administration has helped thousands of students with low means.”
“We have chosen 59 of them from the state’s 27 local government areas.” “We hope this will allow students to focus on their studies without having to worry about logistics,” he said.
Bala challenged the pupils with working hard to justify the help granted to them, as well as being excellent representatives for the state.
