The Adamawa State Government has reinstated 1,699 workers who were dismissed by the previous administration.
On Monday, Solomon Kumangar, the Director General of Media and Communications for Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, announced this.
He added that the impacted employees were 699 batch D teachers who had previously been recruited and sent to primary and secondary schools, and that they had been reinstated.
In addition, 1,000 health professionals were returned, claiming that their earlier disengagement was due to the previous administration’s flawed recruitment process.
“We undertook a discrete inquiry to establish anomalies with the intent of righting the wrongs committed during their recruiting, since we do not witch-hunt anyone,” he explained.
Kumangar pointed out that the current administration has just hired 70 more Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs) to improve the road traffic sector.
According to him, the program will promote excellent road culture among motorists, enhance road safety, and assure the roadworthiness of vehicles and drivers on the roads.
“This will also boost the government’s income generation efforts through the issue of vehicle particulars and the penalizing of erring motorists.”
Meanwhile, he stated that the government had just hired 2,000 more scientific instructors, who had been assigned to secondary schools to teach the major science disciplines.
He explained that the project sought to promote science education in order to bring the state up to speed with current world trends in science and technology.
“We just switched several Government House employees to permanent and pensionable status, rather than being casual or working on temporary status.”
