In preparation for President Muhammadu Buhari’s presentation of the 2023 budget estimate of N19.76 trillion to a joint session of the National Assembly, security has been stepped up at the National Assembly’s main entrances.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and a Sergeant at Arms were among the security personnel observed guarding the complex’s entrances.
Only authorized media covering the assembly and key members of the national assembly were given entrance to the building, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to NAN, the combined session will start inside the House of Representatives’ temporary chamber at 10 a.m.
