The tragic incident between some troops and policemen in the area of Ojo, Lagos State, resulted in the death of a police officer, which the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army expressed regret for on Friday.
Maj. Olaniyi Osoba, the division’s spokesman, said on Friday that the incident took place on Thursday and that the division was in contact with the Lagos State Police Command to handle the situation.
Given the Division’s attitude and zero tolerance for any misbehavior, this occurrence is deeply regretted.
As a result, a Board of Inquiry has been established by the Division to investigate the circumstances leading up to the regrettable incident.
“Anyone found to be responsible will be made to face the full fury of the disciplinary rules at the conclusion of the investigation,” Osoba said.
He expressed his sympathy to the Ojo Police Division and the deceased person’s family.
