The brutal death of an inspector who boarded a commercial bike by gunmen has been verified by the Lagos Police Command.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed on Thursday.
He claims that the victim, a member of Mopol 20 in Ikeja, was shot on Wednesday in Surulere, Lagos State, at Coker Aguda.
He stated that the victim’s relatives will be contacted before the identify of the dead was made public. The command was also working to apprehend individuals responsible for the murder.
The tricycle driver, according to Hundeyin, was brought to a police station for interrogation following the event and then released with instructions to reappear on Thursday to help with the inquiry.
The inspector was guarding a bank, according to the Police PRO, although the event didn’t take place in his place of employment.
He had already departed and was riding a tricycle. He was the lone passenger and had really rented the trike. He was assaulted, shot, and his service weapon was confiscated. Around 3 p.m. in the afternoon, it took place.
But, the official added, “He passed away in the night.”
