151 suspected intruders have been apprehended by members of the Ondo State Security Network, Amotekun Corps.
Newsmen learned that the corps acted on intelligence about a terrorist incursion into Nigeria’s Southwest region.
They were stopped around 6:30 a.m. on the Sango axis of the Akure/Ado route by a corps team conducting a “stop and search” in response to their suspicious movement.
After a thorough search, dangerous charms and photographs of combat drills were discovered on the suspects.
The driver of the truck transporting the invaders claimed they were from Jigawa, Kastina, and Kano, and that they had been chosen from groups traveling to the South West States.
Among the 151 suspects, five women were discovered hiding inside the truck behind bean and rice bags.
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, the State Commander of Amotekun, who confirmed the development, claimed that the suspects were cleverly hidden behind bags of rice.
“Upon interception, we asked for their destinations, some said Akure, while others said Osogbo in Osun State.
“We haven’t finished profiling them because none of them know what they’re going to do or what their mission is.”
“All they could tell us was that they got into the vehicle and drove to Ondo State.”
“However, following the security warning in the South West States, this is not a good sign.”
“While we respect their rights as Nigerians, we are unsure what they are here for, and we believe that anyone traveling should have a mission and destination in mind.”
