According to the village chief, individuals injured in the incident were being treated at hospitals.
According to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji-Kontagora, more security officers have been deployed to the region to assist those already on the ground.
He told them that troops had blocked their path and barred them from going anywhere.
Mr Magaji-Kontagora asked the fleeing villagers to return to their communities and resume their usual lives.
He promised them that their lives and possessions would be safe.
The commissioner of police urged the people to be attentive and security conscious, and to provide reliable intelligence to security services to assist in combating instability.
When reached by phone, the head of the Augie Local Government Area, Lawal Muhammad, stated that security had been increased around villages and other sites.
He also mentioned that an IDP camp had been created in the vicinity.

“Security agencies responded quickly by deploying extra personnel, and normalcy has since restored to the region.”
“I want to encourage those who are fleeing their neighborhood to be patient and peaceful.
“An Internally Displaced Persons camp has been built in a nearby school.”
“The government and security services are doing all possible to protect their lives and property since they are aware of their situation,” the chairman stated.
