Zuggu villagers in Maiyama Local Government Area were praised by Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu for their bravery in putting down several robbers who had assaulted the neighborhood. This was said in a statement made on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi by Malam Yahaya Sarki, Bagudu’s Special Media Advisor.
When the governor paid a visit to the area on Friday, he praised the locals for resisting the bandits and defending themselves.
He declared that their gallant response to the bandit onslaught was deserving of praise and inspiration from others.
Even though several community members had regrettably died, Bagudu said it was heartening that they had routed the bandits and killed some of them.
He exhorted them, along with the other communities in the state, to continue being brave and strong in preserving peace and security in their region.
According to the governor, individuals who died defending the community did not pass away in vain but rather died as martyrs.
“We are here to express our sympathy for the sad incident that occurred as well as our appreciation for the remarkable effort you made to defend yourselves.
He said, “People of Zuggu, I salute you for showing courage to defend themselves.
According to Bagudu, bandits who were displaced by recent military assaults in neighboring states have moved into the state.
He issued a warning that the government will take severe action against anyone circulating untrue information with the potential to drive people from their homes.
In times of sorrow, “we should be our brothers’ caretakers, not to spread false information that could incite terror,” he continued.
He praised security personnel for maintaining the peace throughout the state. For the repose of those who died in the attack, special prayers were said.
Alhaji Hamisu Magaji, the village chief of Zuggu, thanked the governor for his visit and for giving the locals aid supplies. To evaluate the extent of the flooding damage, Bagudu was also in Yar Besse hamlet in Shanga Local Government Area.
He expressed sympathy to people who had lost their homes and crops, and he pushed them to see the catastrophe as God’s will.
He prayed to Allah to prevent a repeat of the calamity and declared that the government would provide the victims with greater relief.
Alhaji Nasiru Jafaru, the District Head of Shanga, responded by thanking the governor for his visit. Alhaji Adamu Ladan, the vice chairman of the local government, also commended the governor for his kindness and supply of aid to the victims. (NAN).
